Chris Caruso has been enthusiastically involved in the automotive industry for over 35 years. In that time he has been involved in modifying and restoring all sorts of cars. When it was time to go racing, which he considered more of a recreational pursuit back then, Wyldcat Racing was born as was the infamous Black Cherry V8 Holden powered Jaguar XJC. After many years of competing in Classic and Targa Rallies, track and sprint events, and the State Motorkhana series; they sure got around and became well known.
A relationship with Mantic Clutch was formed some time later, when in search of a suitable clutch for the newly built Wyldcat Racing Corvette C6 Z06. The search lead from Australia to the USA, then back to Australia when the Americans said “Why are you looking here when the best Corvette clutch is made in Australia?”.
Wyldcat Racing, not long after that, started distributing the Mantic Clutch range to many specialist dyno tune and vehicle enhancement workshops throughout Australia. Some involvement in the development phase of certain Mantic twin and triple plate clutch kits also evolved from the relationship. Over many years Wyldcat Racing has built up a profile as an exciting and successful team, with interesting and well prepared cars. From that famous black Jag or the multiple Autocross wining Mazda Familia GTX and tyre frying Corvette, to the most recent addition Dodge Viper ACR, they have been built to a high standard by Chris at his Wyldcat Racing nostalgia themed workshop.
